The Department of History and Area Studies combines research with teaching in history, social conditions, culture and languages.
Our profile is based upon Danish and international history,
European Studies and a number of area studies based on the
languages taught at the institute covering Russia, China, India,
Japan, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
We provide studies in History, European Studies, East European
Studies (based on Russian, Czech, Hungarian, or
Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian language studies), Chinese, Japanese and
South Asian Studies and finally International Studies.
The department has four sections: Section of History, Section of European Studies, Section of East European Studies and Section of Asian Studies. Furthermore, the institute is linked to a number of centres. Please see listing at your right.
